Research Interests Ecotoxicology Marine Biology Conservation Biochemical and Molecular Biomarkers Inês Morão holds a PhD in Biology and Ecology of Global Changes from the University of Lisbon, with her research based at the Polytechnic University of Leiria. Her interests include ecotoxicology, marine biology, conservation, and biomarker tools. She has worked on sea turtle conservation and ecotoxicological assessments in São Tomé and Príncipe, focusing on metal and persistent organic pollutant contamination and their effects on these populations. Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher in the BLOOMS project, she studies the ecotoxicological impacts of harmful algal blooms, using dinoflagellates and model organisms like Artemia and amphipods. Inês has presented her work at ICYMARE and SETAC, and is actively involved in science communication and outreach. She is part of the ICYMARE organizing team and serves as co-chair of OYSTER, the early-career network of the EuroMarine consortium.
